This is by far one of my favourite sailing books. At some point I read about the craziest sailing competition that was organised in 1968, The Sunday Times Golden Globe race, the first non-stop, single-handed, round-the-world yacht race. Peter Nichols’ is a fabulous account of this event written from the perspective of all the 9 participants who registered for the start of the competition.
